Abstract

F. Munro Purse DO, 1933 was one of the first students to study at the 48th and Spruce campus, became an instructor in pediatrics after graduation, and then Director of PCOM's Pediatric outpatients clinic. During the interview, Purse discusses his clinical training and experience as a student during the Great Depression, the status of female and African American students and instructors at PCOM, and the development of pediatrics as a specialty at PCOM.
