Bridging the Gaps: Community Health Internship Program is a full-time community-based service learning experience for future health and social service professionals. Students are assigned to community organizations and develop projects to build and improve their skills in working with underserved populations, advocating for underrepresented community health needs, and integrating social and cultural factors into patient care.
Program participants develop interprofessional projects along with academic and community preceptors that complement the goals and mission of the organization they are working with. The student posters archived on this site are presented at the annual Bridging the Gaps symposium, attended by community representatives, public health officials, agency personnel, grant makers, faculty, and other students.
